# Navigating Training Page

### Overview of Trainings Page

The **Trainings Page** is your central hub for managing security awareness content assigned to your organization. You can browse your own modules, draw from the Herd Catalog, and track assignment and update status across all trainings.

#### Accessing the Trainings Section

* When you log into Herd, you’ll land on the dashboard.
* Click “Trainings” in the left-hand sidebar to open the Training Library, where you can view all available trainings.

#### Exploring the Training Page

#### <mark style="color:$success;">**Organization Trainings**</mark>

This is the default tab when you open the Trainings page. The tab label will show your company's name — for example, if your organization is called Acme, you'll see **Acme Trainings**.

It shows every training module that has been created or imported by administrators in your organization. From here you can review, edit, assign, and track all trainings your team owns.

#### <mark style="color:cyan;">Herd Catalog</mark>

The Herd Catalog tab gives you access to a library of ready-made training modules built and maintained by Herd Security. These cover the most common security awareness topics and are available to all organizations on the platform.

Catalog modules can be added directly to your \[Your Organization] Trainings tab and assigned to users without any additional setup.

* Browse prebuilt modules covering topics like phishing, passwords, AI usage, and data loss prevention
* Add any catalog module to your library with the **Clone** button — it copies the training into your organization and opens the clone so you can customize it. Clicking a catalog row instead opens a read-only **preview** of the module.
* Content is kept up to date by Herd Security — no maintenance required on your end
* Use the search bar and tag filters to browse by topic

#### Drafts

The **Drafts** view appears when you have unfinished AI-generated trainings — including trainings generated from [Threat Feed](/herd-security-docs/settings/settings/threat-feed.md) events, which land here for your review before anything is published or assigned.

#### Reviews

The **Reviews** view appears only when your organization requires approval for new trainings. It lists trainings awaiting sign-off so reviewers can read through them, leave comments, and approve. See [Training Reviews & Approvals](/herd-security-docs/trainings/getting-started-with-trainings/reviews-and-approvals.md) for the full workflow.

#### Recommendations

The **Recommendations** view appears once your organization turns on the weekly **Agentic Engagement** review (in the training settings drawer). Each week, Herd AI reviews at-risk and disengaged employees and proposes trainings for them; proposals wait here until someone clicks **Accept & assign** or **Dismiss** (dismissing also keeps the weekly review from re-proposing it for a while). In **Auto-assign** mode the weekly review assigns its proposals automatically — starting in **shadow mode**, which only logs what would be assigned until you turn it off.

#### Toolbar

Above the training list you'll find a few extra controls:

* **Media Library** — opens the [Media Library](/herd-security-docs/trainings/getting-started-with-trainings/media-library.md), your organization's saved AI-generated images and videos.
* **Reports** — opens [Training Reports](/herd-security-docs/trainings/getting-started-with-trainings/training-reports.md), where you can review completion across users and trainings and export the data. (The same report also lives in the [Reports hub](/herd-security-docs/reports/reports.md).)
* **Request training** — lets anyone suggest a training topic to your admins. See [Training Requests](/herd-security-docs/trainings/getting-started-with-trainings/training-requests.md).
* **Training settings (gear)** — opens the **Training settings** drawer (shown when you have access to it), organized into panels: **Messaging & delivery** (email delivery for trainings), **Creation & feedback** (approval requirements, feedback sampling, [story-based training tone](/herd-security-docs/trainings/getting-started-with-trainings/create-training-with-ai.md#story-based-trainings)), **Herd AI automation** ([nightly training generation](/herd-security-docs/trainings/getting-started-with-trainings/create-training-with-ai.md#letting-herd-ai-plan-your-library)), **Agentic engagement** (the weekly review described above), **Reports & digests**, and [completion award branding](/herd-security-docs/trainings/getting-started-with-trainings/completion-awards.md).

#### AI training recommendations

AI training recommendations now live on the [Dashboard](/herd-security-docs/getting-started/dashboard.md#ai-recommendations) as the **AI Recommendations** widget (they were previously a panel at the top of the trainings list). Each suggestion shows the training, a priority badge, a relevance score, the AI's reasoning, and the matching tags — **Accept** one to review the training's content, or **Dismiss** it.

#### Creating New Trainings

At the top of the Trainings Page, click [**New Training**](/herd-security-docs/trainings/getting-started-with-trainings/creating-trainings.md) to build a training from scratch, tailored to your organization or a specific topic for your team.

### Searching and Filtering Trainings

<figure><img src="/files/e3zvlZnHQq7Tb2O60gTV" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

To quickly find the training you need:

* **Search Bar**: Search by training name, creator, or editor.
* **Filter by Tags**: Narrow results by tags like *Phishing*, *Compliance*, or *MFA*.
* **Delivery mode**: Filter by **Conversational** or **Step-by-step** trainings.
* **Status**: Filter by **Active** or **Inactive** trainings.
* **Archive state**: Switch between **Active** (the default), **Archived**, and **All**. Archived trainings carry an **Archived** badge.
* **Starred**: Toggle to show only starred trainings for quicker access.
* **Created by / Edited by**: Filter trainings by their creator or last editor.

With these tools, you can easily organize and locate trainings without scrolling through the full library.

### Closing a Training

**Close Training** retires a *sent* training for end users while keeping everything else exactly as it is. On the training's detail page, open the **More actions** (⋮) menu and choose **Close training**.

When a training is closed:

* Anyone who hasn't completed it **no longer sees it** in their pending trainings — it disappears from their Slack App Home and Teams tab, reminders stop, and in-progress steps stop advancing.
* **Reporting is untouched.** The training stays in your library and reports with completion rates frozen as-is; completed conversations are unaffected.
* No new assignments can be made while it's closed (the **Assign** and **Escalations** tabs are disabled).
* It carries a **Closed** badge and buckets as **Inactive** in the status filter.

Closing is fully reversible: choose **Reopen training** and incomplete assignments become pending again, reminders resume, and members' current step is re-delivered so they can pick up where they left off.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Close vs. Archive:** close a training when its run is over but you want the record front-and-center (completion rates as-is, easy to reopen). Archive it when you want it out of the library entirely.
{% endhint %}

### Archiving Trainings

When a training has run its course, you can retire it without deleting anything. On the training's detail page, open the **More actions** (⋮) menu and choose **Archive training**.

An archived training:

* Is hidden from the active library list (find it with the **Archived** filter, marked with an **Archived** badge).
* Can't receive new assignments and is excluded from reports and track delivery.
* Becomes **read-only** — the Assign and Escalations tabs are disabled until you unarchive.
* Keeps all historical completion data, and can be restored at any time via **Unarchive training** in the same menu.

{% hint style="info" %}
Archiving is blocked while the training still has in-flight assignments — complete or remove them first. Archiving requires the **Training Edit** permission, and only your organization's own trainings can be archived (not Herd catalog content).
{% endhint %}

Now that you know the layout of the Trainings Page, it’s time to create a Training. Click into the next page to learn how.
