# Training Feedback

## What Is Training Feedback?

**Training Feedback** closes the loop with your learners: after finishing a training, they can rate it, flag what stood out, and leave a comment. The results roll up on the training's **Results** tab, so you can see which content lands and which needs work — grounded in what learners actually said rather than completion numbers alone.

***

## What learners see

### On the web

When a learner completes a training in the web player, a feedback form appears beneath the completion screen:

* **"How would you rate this training?"** — a 1–5 star rating.
* **"What stood out? Pick all that apply."** — category chips: **Helpful**, **Unclear**, **Too long**, **Too basic**, **Technical issue**, and **Other**.
* **"Add a comment"** — free text, up to 2,000 characters.

Everything is optional (any one part is enough), and **Share feedback** submits it.

### In Slack and Teams

After completing a training in chat, learners can get a lightweight feedback prompt right in the thread: **1–5 star** buttons, the same category buttons (tap again to unpick), and a **💬 Add a comment** button that opens a comment box. The comment prompt is explicit that responses are shared with the security team.

## Controlling how often learners are prompted

The chat prompt is **sampled** so you don't survey every learner after every training. In the **Training settings** drawer (gear on the Trainings page), under **Creation & feedback**, set the feedback sampling rate: **Off**, **10%**, **25%**, **50%**, **100%**, or a custom value.

## Reviewing feedback (admins)

Open a training and go to its **Results** tab — the **Feedback** card shows:

* **Average rating** (out of 5, with how many learners rated) and total **responses**, including what share of completers responded and how many left comments.
* A star-by-star breakdown.
* **What users flagged** — the category counts at a glance.
* **All feedback** — the full list of individual responses (who, rating, categories, comment), filterable by category.

Recurring themes in feedback pair well with [Training Requests](/herd-security-docs/trainings/getting-started-with-trainings/training-requests.md): one tells you what to fix, the other what to build next.
