# Training Reports

## What Are Training Reports?

**Training Reports** give you a single place to see how your organization is progressing through its trainings — overall completion at a glance, plus a detailed breakdown you can filter and export for record-keeping or compliance.

***

## Opening Reports

From the **Trainings Page** toolbar, click **Reports**. This opens the reports view for your organization. The same report is also the **Completion** tab of the [Reports hub](/herd-security-docs/reports/reports.md) (**Reports** in the sidebar), alongside simulation, risk, engagement, and audit reporting.

## Summary Cards

At the top of the page, summary cards show the headline numbers:

| Card | What it shows |
| ------------------- | --------------------------------------------------- |
| **Total Users** | Number of users included in the report. |
| **Total Trainings** | Number of trainings included. |
| **Assignments** | Total training assignments across users. |
| **Completed** | Assignments that have been finished. |
| **In Progress** | Assignments that are underway but not yet complete. |
| **Completion Rate** | Overall percentage of assignments completed. |

## The Detail Table

Below the summary cards, a table breaks results down row by row. Each row pairs a user with a training and shows:

* **User** — name and email.
* **Training** — the training title.
* **Status** — Completed, In Progress, Not Started, Queued, or Pending.
* **Progress** — steps completed out of the total.
* **Updated** — the date of the most recent activity.

Click a column header to sort, and use pagination to move through large result sets.

***

## Filtering

Narrow the report with the available filters:

* **Status** — All, Completed, In Progress, or Not Started.
* **User** — focus on a specific person.
* **Training** — focus on a specific training.
* **Organization filters** — when your directory is connected, filter by attributes such as department, division, or organization.

***

## Exporting to CSV

Click **Export CSV** to download the report. Before exporting, you can:

* **Choose which columns** to include (for example: Training, User Name, User Email, Direct Manager, Status, Steps Completed, Total Steps, Started At, Completed At, Last Updated), and reorder them.
* **Set a date range** to limit the export by last activity date. Leave the dates blank to include all records.

The export reflects the filters and sort order you currently have applied.

{% hint style="info" %}
The CSV honors your active filters and date range, so you can export a focused slice — for example, only Not Started assignments for one training — rather than the whole library.
{% endhint %}

## Completion digests

Instead of pulling a report, you can have Herd push recurring training-completion summaries over Slack or Teams. Open the **Training settings** drawer (gear on the Trainings page) and find **Completion digests** under **Reports & digests**. There are two independent digests:

* **Leadership digest** — sends the recipients you choose a completion rollup grouped **by department and by manager**. Pick which assignments count with **Assignments included**: **All training assignments** or **Certification campaigns only** (compliance-tracked trainings with due dates). Only the people you add to **Recipients** get it.
* **Manager digest** — sends **every manager** a summary of their own direct reports' outstanding and overdue trainings. Use **Opted-out managers** to exclude specific managers.

Each digest has its own **cadence** — **Weekly**, **Every two weeks**, or **Monthly** — and sends are delayed to your organization's business hours.

### Digest subscriptions via HerdAI

Beyond the two training digests above, Herd offers a subscribable **org recap** digest — an org-wide security-awareness summary covering people active, training completion, phishing click and report rates, and upcoming campaigns. Subscriptions to all three digest types are managed **in chat**: ask [HerdAI](/herd-security-docs/herdai/herdai.md) to *"list my digest subscriptions"*, *"subscribe me to the org recap monthly"*, or *"unsubscribe me from the manager digest"*. Digests can be delivered as a Slack or Teams DM, to a Slack channel, or by email (the manager digest is DM-only, since each manager's copy contains their own team's data).
